In local cycling news….BIKEDANCE will be on my birthday this year. Monday, Jan 24th. Meet at 5ish at White Pine. We’ll have the Bon Scot Whiskey bar set up. Alas, I will not be joining in the march to mainstreet because 1. my parents are leaving early the next morning 2. I have surgery 3. I don’t feel like working super hung over. 4. I do not trust that cyclists + sundance + bar night will not = hangover.
So I called Waterford Cycles for the first time in my life yesterday. What a wonderful experience….it was everything I hoped it would be. For those if you who don’t know the history, read it here. I love old Schwinns….Cruisers, Paramounts…..I’ve owned both. I have a Schwinn banner in my shop that is as old as I am. Dharma Wheels has a Schwinn pump (lovingly refurbished by me) that is OLDER than I am. Who refurb’s a pump. I fucking do!
I’ve always wanted a Waterford. Its almost a shame that we have custom steel options like I.F. and Cielo…..what to do. At least I can hop on the fit cycle and have Tim tell me how fast I look. Maybe I can help him create a parameter in ReTul that shows how far my gut is getting to my knees when I pedal these days.
